" Don has safely driven students back and forth to school for fifty years. Generations of families have experienced his unwavering commitment to young people in the Stettler community. Don not only was our Bus Driver, but also held the position of Bussing Coordinator and Bus Supervisor while employed with East Central Alberta Catholic Separate School Division. Don is committed to keeping the busses clean and well maintained. Don mentored new bus drivers and continued to support them in their careers. He assisted with route planning and arranging regular inspections and maintenance. He was very pro-active in maintenance of the busses which helped keep the fleet on the road and mechanically sound. Don always completed and submitted all his paperwork in a timely manner. He was able to adapt and adjust to the changing requirements over his fifty years of driving busses. Don was conscious of cost and found savings whenever possible. He continues to transport our children through Prairie Bus Lines Limited since September of 2021. Don is practical and provided great insights in our discussions and his easy-going nature and sense of humor make him a pleasure to work with. Don’s focus was always on bus safety and helping children. Don is an employee who gets up every morning and looks forward to welcoming the children as they board the bus. Don’s warm personality and his wonderful sense of humor make him easy to connect with. This makes him an integral part of the school community, and especially in the lives of the students.  Don Strandquist is an excellent, safe, and conscientious driver and completes his route whenever it is safe to do so.
