2025 Bus Driver Appreciation Day

The first Monday in May is dedicated to celebrating school bus drivers and recognizing their commitment to safely transporting students to and from school each day, as well as the positive impact they have on students’ lives. This year, the STAA formally requested that the Alberta Government officially declare this day as Driver Appreciation Day. The response was encouraging—the Government of Alberta has agreed to recognize the first Monday in May each year as Bus Driver Appreciation Day. In their response, the government also acknowledged the important role bus drivers play in our province, highlighting their dedication to the safety of thousands of students every day.

This year Bus Driver Appreciation Day will be celebrated on May 5^th. The STAA would like to extend their gratitude to each school bus driver, thank you for all you do.
